Lois,
the gracious, charming and beautiful wife, is the cornerstone of unwavering truth and energy in this little family, and hence over time, may yet come to realize Gary to be somewhat less than advertised. Lois's hobbies and interests include all that which is good, wholesome and tends to hold this family together. When not pursuing some sticky state corrections issue, shopping for pizza,
or sifting unmentionables from the litterbox, Lois enjoys
Stephen King novels, following the Trace Adkins concert schedule, oriental food from the mall foodcourt, and saving the cat from perilous family situations.
Résumé
Zach,
the inquisitive and challenging son, is presently in the 8th grade and, like his dad, delights his teachers with his charm and studiousness. His hobbies include model railroading, maintaining the airplane straight and level, mastering the violin (classical violin and Irish fiddle), playing the string bass (the musical instrument - not the fish) in concert, sketching rockets and detailing drowning people falling from sinking ships, dabbling in contractual law, rethinking alternate outcomes to the Titanic disaster, and giving the cat and his sister a rough time.
Zoe,
the warm, graceful and charming daughter, is the fun-loving free-spirited yet
tenatious 5th-grader. Rarely intimidated, she is always ready to have a go at any improbable task. Zoe excels in school though her teacher isn't into this free-spirit thing as much as Zoe is. Like Lois, Zoe closely
follows country music, though her interests extend well into rhythm and blues. Currently, she finds satisfaction in following Alan Jackson's musical career, playing soccer and the
piano flute oboe, drawing anything other than those stinking ships and pointing out her older brother's character flaws to anyone who will listen.
Gertie,
the super cat, may be the least vocal member of the Bailey household but has an established and well known reputation for being cool under fire and running in the face of adversity. Gertie's ever-exciting days are filled with napping in the sunshine, watching birds in the back yard, and playing games to the finish with the occasional passing mouse. She has grown to dislike having her legs twisted and pulled, and the kids have the open wounds and scars to prove it.
